Making Small Spotting Telescopes A Gift from our Friends at Precision Applied Products - Pete Nance - Past President of the Optical Society of Southern California
These designs will be used at the UC Irvine Gifted Student Academy Astronomy program in July and then in subsequent programs with THINK Together, the Discovery Science Center and with other OISC alliance partners. Specific designs will be made available here on this web page, as will photos of the students actually making and using them. Please take a moment to Thank our friends at Precision Applied Products for their donations of the designs, lenses and tubing by visiting them on the web (click on the logo above). Notice that the images through these telescopes are "upside - down" that is how typical astronomical telescopes are designed. More on this topic will be presented here later.
